Blame it on the boogie

Apparently, women are to blame for earthquakes.

According to an Iranian cleric “many women who do not dress modestly … lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which increases earthquakes”.

So, consequently, we could probably blame European women for the ash cloud hovering over Europe. Because I bet the Iranian cleric in question would not think that women here dress modestly.

It’s good to have someone to blame for everything, isn’t it?

I should probably leave this particular argument alone, but I’m sick and tired of hearing that women can’t dress a certain way because it’s somehow provocative or some sort of signal (ie come and get it). I’m sick and tired of women being objectified. And I don’t understand why a naked guy is funny and a naked girl is provocative/alluring/obscene/.

There’s a lot about this that makes me mad and which I don’t understand. But is it really too much to ask that the world would change even a little bit so that people can dress any way they want and not have to take the blame for natural disasters as well as everything else?
